COMMISSIONING SPECIALIST/MECHANICAL

Hired on 13 November 2006 as a Mechanical Commissioning Specialist. First project assignment was the TS Power Project for the Newmont Mining Corporation in Dunphy, NV. I am currently working at the Luminant Oak Grove Steam Electric Station, which is under construction in Franklin, TX.  Job duties consist of accepting from the construction group and commissioning newly installed equipment. A various sundry of administrative tasks are also associated with this process.  P & ID review and scoping, operating and maintenance procedure development and various data gathering and entry tasks are just a few examples. Also responsible for implementing and enforcing the site LOTO program.

 

2004 – 30 August – 10 November 2006   Gardner-Denver Inc.           Peachtree City, Georgia

SENIOR FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN

Hired on 30 August 2004 to fill the position of Northeast Field Service Technician for the Centrifugal Blower Division Service Department. Specific duties include traveling %100 of the time to customer’s locations to perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on all models of centrifugal blowers manufactured and sold by Gardner-Denver. This maintenance includes bearing removal and replacement, vibration analysis and vibration troubleshooting, controls setup/troubleshooting, performing shaft alignments with a laser, and also conducting training with customers on the proper operation of newly installed equipment. Other duties include managing my own schedule, managing an expense account, maintaining a company-provided vehicle and set of tools and producing and maintaining a database of service reports for each job performed.

COMBINDED CYCLE OPERATOR

Hired on in November of 2001, started work on 02 Jan 2002 while still on terminal leave from the USN. Plant was in 8th month of initial construction. (Three General Electric Frame 7 gas turbines and One General Electric D11 steam turbine) Worked with Duke/Flour Daniels construction and sub-contracted commissioning / start-up group through the final stages of construction until plant received commercial status in August of 2003. Duties during construction / commissioning included review of P&ID’s, equipment identification and tagging, system walk-downs, valve line-ups for initial starts of new equipment, steam water quality sampling and monitoring, water treatment plant commissioning and operation, composition of plant and related auxiliary equipment operating procedures, simple cycle operation during June of 2003, and numerous other related training. Related training included Corporate safety training, which included first responder, hazmat spill response, CPR, general first aid and defibrillator usage.  D-FD sponsored BOP operator training, General Electric sponsored Frame 7 gas turbine operator training and attendance at General Electric Mark V Speedtronic Turbine Control School in Loveland, Co. Duties since substantial completion have been rotated on a monthly basis between Outside Operator, Control Room Operator and Water Treatment Plant Operator. Other duties have also included general and preventative maintenance of plant equipment as well as various administrative duties such as ongoing plant operating procedure refinement and Plant Safety Council Chairperson. Maintenance specialties include, but are not limited to: mechanical, welding, pipe-fitting and minor electrical. Fluent with all versions of Windows, Microsoft Office type programs, the Internet and Westinghouse Ovation DCS systems. Also licensed by the State of Ohio as 3rd Class Stationary Steam Engineer. (My license is still current) Most experience was gained with BOP equipment operation and maintenance and Water Treatment Plant operation, including laboratory tasks.

INSTRUCTOR 

Last tour of duty spent at the Atlantic Fleet Helicopter Operations School, which is a division of the training department of Helicopter Combat Support Squadron Eight.  Job description includes instructing Helicopter Control Officer, Landing Signalman Enlisted and Night Vision Device courses of instruction. Collateral duties include acting Command International Military Student Officer, Divisional Training Officer, Facilities Manager, Command Webmaster and Airframes Maintenance Supervisor.  Honorably Discharged at end of enlistment on 19 FEB 2002. Paygrades: E-5 – E-6.

AIRFRAMES MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

Attached to Helicopter Anti-submarine Squadron Light Four Nine.  Job description included performing scheduled and unscheduled airframes and powerplant maintenance (including airframe and drive-train vibration analysis) on 13 Sikorsky SH-60B model helicopters. (General Electric T-700 turbo-shaft engines)  Collateral duties included Quality Assurance Representative and Collateral Duty Inspector for the Airframes, Powerplants, Line and Corrosion Control work centers.   Detachment shift supervisor, Leading Plane Captain, Detachment Training Officer, Detachment Aircraft Tire and Wheel Maintenance Program Manager, Detachment Hydraulic Contamination Program Manager, Detachment Support Equipment Licensing Program Manager, Detachment Plane Captain Program Manager, Flight Deck Director, Emergency Reclamation and Salvage Program Manager, Respiratory Protection Program Manager, Non-destructive Inspection Operator and Program Manager and Maintenance Control Representative.  Paygrade: E-5

AIRFRAMES MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

Attached to the Pacific Missile Range Facility, Barking Sands.  Job Description included performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance (including airframe and drive-train vibration analysis)  on 12 Sikorsky UH-3A and UH-3H model helicopters. (General Electric T-58 turbo-shaft engines) Primary duties included airframes work-center night shift supervisor and corrosion control work-center night shift supervisor. Collateral duties included Quality Assurance Representative and Collateral Duty Inspector for the Airframes, Powerplant and Corrosion Control work centers.  Non-Pilot Aircraft Engine Operator, Aircraft Paint Scheme Maintenance Technician, Airframes Work Center Tool Control Program Manager, Airframes Work Center Training Officer,  Auxiliary Security Force member and Command Morale Welfare and Recreation sponsored Car Club Founder and President.  Paygrade: E-1 - E-5
